Supply Chain Planner / Buyer

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Supply Chain Planner / Buyer to play a pivotal role in our dynamic Supply Chain team. In this role you will be responsible for the strategic planning of all commodity volumes (e.g. parts, consumables) for short-, medium- and long-terms in our ERP system. In addition, you will be also tasked with taking over the sourcing for some of the current commodity groups.

Roadmap

Within first month, you will...

  • Familiarize yourself with the product portfolio of 1X and the various teams working on developing it

  • Get a good overview of our current supplier relationships and start interacting with the ones that you will be responsible for managing further

  • Gain a user's knowledge of our ERP and other internal accounting systems for logging inventory, invoices, POs, etc.

Within three months, you will…

  • Take over the responsibility of demand planning across all commodities related to the production of the robots

  • Fully own the sourcing of particular commodities / parts and/or equipment (to be revised in light of other priorities)

  • Be the single source of contact for 1X internal stakeholders when it comes to status of orders for particular robot versions

Within one year, you will…

  • Operate a robust and reliable supply chain delivering high quality parts on cost and on time for serial production

  • Have developed deep relationships with suppliers allowing for transparent negotiations between parties resulting in win-win solutions

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Production Engineering, Production Operations, and R&D, to forecast demand accurately and ensure 1X's supply chain is aligned with these volume requirements
  • Set delivery targets together with the rest of the Buyers and monitoring delivery performance of suppliers (incl. identifying delays and issues, monitor inventory levels - own replenishment link)
  • Manage the sourcing of certain commodities required for production, OTS parts or equipment.
  • Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimise stock levels, minimise carrying costs, and maintain sufficient supply to support production schedules.
  • Use the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, ensuring it is up-to-date and effectively utilised to manage procurement, inventory, and other supply chain processes.
  • As part of the entire supply chain team, implement and document processes for the gaps between SC, warehouse and manufacturing.

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Proven experience in supply chain planning and procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or technology-driven environment

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in similar roles / similar environment

  • Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment

Nice-To-Haves

  • Strong knowledge and good working level experience of the Odoo ERP system (v16 or v17)
  • Experience in working with complex electro-mechanical HW products (ideally components used in robotic systems)
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing advantageous supplier contracts with suppliers from around the world
